Winnerboats, Faborg, Kingdom of Denmark
Gift of Dr. and Mrs. David Gundlach and Sons

The Optimist is a one-design class and one of the largest in the world designed specifically for children. Safe and easy to sail, it was intended to encourage boys and girls to enter the sport and to experience sailboat racing against other youngsters using exactly the same equipment.

Two of the donor’s sons became Virginia State Champions aboard “Minnow”.
